  • Since the first isolation of graphene, scientific development regarding synthesis methodologies and related applications has been inspiringly progressing. However, the real commercialization of graphene has been far from an overnight success. Our group aims to utilize the basic principles in chemistry and material sciences to explore the frontier and commercial applications of graphene.

  • Synthesis determines the future. We are striving to develop structure-controlled CVD synthesis and reliable post-growth transfer of graphene films, both of which are essential for specific applications. We also aim to explore real applications of graphene, including membrane- and device-based applications via chemical modification, surface, and substrate engineering.

  • Postdoc positions are open for applicants with Ph.D. degrees in various backgrounds, including Physical Chemistry, Nanomaterials, and Polymer Materials. We also warmly welcome graduate and undergraduate students to join our group!

  • Welcome Zhuofeng Shi and Yaqi Zhu join our group!

Prof. Li Lin (林立)

I am a tenure-track assistant professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Peking University, and the head of The Division of Advanced Graphene Materials in Beijing Graphene Institute (BGI). I received my B.S. in Chemistry from Shandong University in 2012 and Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry from Peking University in 2017. I pursued postdoctoral studies at the National Graphene Institute, the University of Manchester from 2018 to 2020, and stayed at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, National University of Singapore for postdoctoral training from 2020 to 2022.

I am trained in chemistry, physics, and materials science. My current research interests focus on structure-controlled CVD synthesis, reliable post-growth transfer, and applications of graphene films. I am very interested in exploring Frontier sciences and industrial applications of graphene and graphene-based heterostructures, including membrane- and device-based applications. I was issued over 20 patents and published more than 60 papers including Science, Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Science Advances, JACS, ACS Nano, Nano Lett., Adv. Mater., etc.
